It's so weird how these things work sometimes, having a bf who's obviously not only a kindred soul but also some sort of a foretelling mind reader...

When I came home on Valentine's Day evening after earlier that day finding and getting fascinated and posting about those insect fairies,

this little shiny green guy I'm holding in my hand had dropped down the mail box: (the butterfly wing necklace was from my trip to NY)

It's so adorable, even though I'm actually scared of bugs, and I'd say quite a lot more than average...

But behind glass and in pictures I really like them!

I think I'm now staying in the sixth apartment within a year or something. I really shouldn't be buying decorating stuff that's just difficult and unnecessary to bring along to the next place, but the collector in me just can't resist when finding the stuff from fleamarkets and second hand stores it's not even about the price... Now I bought the table, a small one, but still quite impossible to bring when in 3-4 months I'm gonna move somewhere again which I think will be further than a car ride away, which I guess would be the only way to move it safely and affordably for long distances. My brother lives an hour's train ride away, so I think I'll just have to carry it there and hope for a future reunion...

Today I came across a fashion film shot by Norwegian Matias & Mathias for jewellery brand Bjørg and for me it really made their already stunning 2012 collection and it's lookbook photography (also by the same guys) suddenly loaded with so much more depth and meaning. In Ben Trovato the filmmakers say they "began to explore the cost of going against the grain in a historical context"...

The screenshots would also be amazinly beautiful, but before revealing too much, here's the actual video for the full affect...

Some of my favourite shots and/or pieces from the lookbook. Reading form Bjørg's webpage that their inspirations for the collection included "Roman fantasies" those horse hair pieces make perfect sense... Reflecting the Roman galea I think they're just a perfect execution of the theme.

Did some photoshopping with my own photos today to create some images and collages, again to illustrate my thesis and to use as sort of separate moodboards for my examination collection.

The last one looks most like how it is where I'm now, back home up north to celebrate Christmas and New Year's. Even though I'm from here I kind of feel like I'd imagine the camel in the pic does...

I've been shooting some of my knitwear here, looking forward to get the photos! Also been getting tattooed, and will be doing that some more... Then there's all the Christmas stuff, eating great food and getting nice presents and hanging out with friends and relatives. And the New Year in a ski resort still ahead. Hopefully I'll be able to share some of the fun with photos later on...

Abbey Lee pulling the sword from the stone in a Sebastian Kim photo from Numéro got me dreaming about castles. Visiting old castles, to be more exact, or just finding some pictures of such to gaze at. René Magritte's Castle in the Pyrenees adds some fuel to my fascination with it's magical athmosphere. Of the real ones my attention seems to be fixated especially on Neuschwanstein in Bavaria.

The last couple of days have been torture for me since I was super excited but too busy to go get them. Just happened that in these two days I've not only been given converse-like shoes to draw at work but also last night when watching Marie Antoinette I spotted a pair of baby blue converse in the shoe fitting scene! Like I was haunted. (And no, mine are not Converse-the-brand, but oh so cool...)
